A source who works very closely with SONY/BMG tells us that Destiny’s Step-Child singer Kelly Rowland is set to change lanes when it comes to her her manager and career. Yeah we’ve heard this rumor before, but this time it seems quite legit. Kelly was recently spotted meeting with "19 Entertainment’s" Simon Fuller, who she is expected to announce as her new manager at the top of the year. We predict her current manager Mathew Knowles ain’t gonna like this.




Simon is the current manager of international acts like The Spice Girls, Annie Lennox, Carrie Underwood and David and Victoria Beckham. And Kelly may not be the superstar that her group member Beyonce is in the United States, but the singer is a mega-star in Europe where she has been playing arena-size venues with the biggest international pop acts. Apparently 27-year-old Kelly is tired of playing the backseat to Beyonce who is also managed by Papa Knowles and intends to ax B’s daddy in the coming weeks.

The album Ms. Kelly was released in the U.S. in 2007 after being pushed back numerous times for Beyonce’s B’day CD. After Ms. Kelly came out, the CD sold underwhelming numbers.
In the U.K., the CD had an impressive debut and bolted up the charts after the song “E2Work” hit radio. The CD was re-released in the Europe and in Japan as, Ms. Kelly Deluxe, and was a chart-topper. The re-release was only available for digital download in the U.S.
Unfortunately, Kelly’s U.S. success doesn’t match her international career and before she ends up like U.S. singer Anastacia, who is an international superstar but doesn’t sell records in America, Kelly is ready for a management overhaul to get things together.

The Black Artists Association is taking her to task for not wearing anything by an African American designer. Cofounder Amnau Eele said Wednesday she will make a formal appeal to the First Lady’s office on behalf of the BAA.




“It’s fine and good if you want to be all ‘Kumbaya’ and ‘We Are the World’ by representing all different countries. But if you are going to have Isabel Toledo do the inauguration dress, and Jason Wu do the evening gown, why not have Kevan Hall, B Michael, Stephen Burrows or any of the other black designers do something too?” Eele said.

Tampa Bay Bucs bring on a Brotha as their new Head Coach

Tampa, Fla. -- Tampa Bay defensive coordinator Raheem Morris was promoted to head coach Saturday, replacing the fired Jon Gruden.

The Bucs also announced Mark Dominik was hired as general manager, succeeding Bruce Allen.
The announcement came a day after Gruden and Allen were let go.

Morris, who is 32, started last season as defensive backs coach and was elevated to defensive coordinator when Monte Kiffin left the team for a position at the University of Tennessee.
"In anything with change, you have questions, but I think the one thing that Coach Morris will bring to the table is energy, everybody being on the same page at the same time, from top to bottom," Pro Bowl linebacker Derrick Brooks said.

Dominik has been the team's pro personnel director since 2001.
Gruden joined the Bucs in 2002 and led them to the Super Bowl Championship that season. This year's Tampa Bay team lost its last four games, finished 9-7 and missed the playoffs.

Oprah possibly the next Ambassador to South Africa

Jan. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Oprah Winfrey may be appointed U.S. ambassador to South Africa, the Mail & Guardian reported, citing an unidentified official in the U.S. embassy.
Winfrey may replace Eric Bost, the Johannesburg-based newspaper said.
Winfrey hosts a popular TV show in the U.S. and owns a school in South Africa known as the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls.

President Obama Plans to hold on to the Blackberry

January 16, 2009 (Computerworld) President-elect Barack Obama told CNN Today, he planned to "hang onto" his beloved BlackBerry, but did not explain how he would overcome legal and security concerns.

The revelation came in an interview with CNN's John King in which Obama said, "I think we're going to be able to beat this back."

"I think we're going to be able to hang onto one of these. My working assumption, and this is not new, is that anything I write on an e-mail could end up being on CNN," Obama said.
"So I make sure to think before I press 'send'," he said.

But the president-elect, who will take office next week, said his favorite smartphone was an important tool for him to keep in touch.

"It's just one tool among a number of tools that I'm trying to use, to break out of the bubble, to make sure that people can still reach me," he told CNN.

"If I'm doing something stupid, somebody in Chicago can send me an e-mail and say, 'What are you doing?'

"I want to be able to have voices, other than the people who are immediately working for me, be able to reach out and send me a message about what's happening in America."

The Inman Park franchise of the Grape that pop star Usher opened to widespread publicity in late 2006 has closed, according to its parent company. The shop — a wine bar, bistro and wine retailer rolled into one — did not reopen in the New Year and did not renew its liquor license with the Georgia Department of Revenue.
Currently, three local branches of the Grape remain: in the Vinings Jubilee shopping center, Phipps Plaza and Atlantic Station. The Atlanta-based Grape Enterprise Group Inc., which both owns and franchises shops mostly throughout the Southeast, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November. Its franchise locations, such as the one in Inman Park, were not party to the filing.

President Obama Has to Move Himself....

Barack Obama is sworn in on Jan. 20, he and his family will move into the White House. But how exactly will the president-elect get all his belongings into his new home? Will he hire movers?
Yes. The president-elect is responsible for arranging transportation for his furniture, clothes, and personal effects from Chicago to a White House storage facility in Maryland (where they also keep antiques, Easter decorations, paintings, etc.). The Secret Service oversees the whole process, which usually happens the week before the inauguration. It provides an escort for the moving vehicles and screens all items—books, desks, chairs—before they enter the facility. But Obama has to cover the transportation costs, either with personal funds or money raised for his campaign or transition.

Once the incoming president's stuff is on White House grounds, the residence staff takes custody of his possessions. According to several news sites R Kelly’s wife has now officially divorced him. And her pockets just got a whole lot better because of it. Here’s the official release from the ex Mrs. Kelly’s lawyers:

A Judgment for Dissolution of Marriage was entered today dissolving the marriage between singer, R. Kelly and his wife of 11 years, Andrea Kelly. The parties have reached an amicable resolution concerning all issues related to their marriage and will share joint custody of their three children. The details of this agreement will remain confidential and the family requests that their privacy be respected during this time.

Details on the settlement are pretty sketchy. Mediatakeout reported that Andrea received more than $50 Million in the settlement.

According to a very popular website*, rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is getting ready to make a HUGE purchase . It's not a House either – but the rights to some of the most influential hip hop tracks EVER CREATED.

This site reported that 50 Cent is preparing to aggressively bid for Death Row Records entire catalogue. The catalogue, which was owned by mogul Suge Knight and is being auctioned in bankruptcy contains all rights to the following albums:

Rapper DMX about to lose his Arizona home to Foreclosure

Even though DMX has made millions in the rap game....his Valley home in foreclosure and in shambles.

Andrew Wheeler's in charge of selling DMX's foreclosed home for the bank.
"It's very nerve-racking, sometimes I think he'll just show up,” he said. “This was probably his pride and joy."
For now, DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, is in jail, waiting to be sentenced on animal cruelty, theft, and drug convictions.

According to the realtor, the quads DMX is seen riding were stolen, along with almost everything else, leaving behind a damaged shell of a once-glamorous home.

CHICAGO - A murder indictment was issued Tuesday against the man charged with killing the mother, brother and nephew of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson.William Balfour had already been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, but a grand jury must indict a defendant before the case can go to trial, said Andy Conklin, a spokesman for the Cook County state's attorney's office.No new details or charges were outlined in the indictment against Balfour, who faces first-degree murder and home invasion charges.
